This is the first YA I read in a long time, back when it had just been released and wasn't a big deal yet. I don't know how she did it, but Stephanie Meyer managed to capture the excruciating process that is falling in love when you are very young. She's taken a lot of flack for her writing over the years. Some say she doesn't write well at all. One thing for sure, she inspired a generation to read again. Again and again I've heard people say they fell in love with reading after buying Twilight. It made me fall in love with YA again.
This book has also inspired young people to write their own books. Awesome!
Did you know this book came from a dream the author had? Stephanie Meyer says she woke up after a very vivid dream. In the dream there was an average girl and a beautiful sparkly vampire. It was obvious to Meyer they were falling in love, but also that the vampire was attracted to the scent of her blood and was having a hard time not killing her.
My review: I fell in love with Edward right along with Bella. This might put me in the minority, but I loved the book more than the movie. To me Edward in the book was charming and worldly, bigger than life. I loved how he related to Bella. The movie was a different story. I felt like Edward (in the movie) was an immature boy who couldn't talk to girls. Come on. After eighty years he ought to be able to speak to girls without stumbling over his words. And that's why I didn't like the movie. Also, I didn't appreciate how they had him blurt out that he was a vampire. At least in the book Bella had to draw the truth out of the reluctant Edward.
What are your thoughts on Twilight (the book, not the movie)?

Justin Bieber
In case you haven't heard, Justin Bieber is a young Canadian pop singer. He was discovered in 2008 by a talent scout who was searching YouTube for videos at the time. Justin became the first artist to have seven songs on the Billboard Hot 100. He skyrocketed into fame, especially with young girls, and if you love him, you are thought to have Bieber-Fever. Apparently it's highly contagious. His hits include One Less Lonely Girl, Baby, and Boyfriend.
This singer/songwriter is also an actor. He played a troubled teen in an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
There doesn't seem to be a dull moment in this young man's life. From dating and then breaking up with Selena Gomez to performing for millions, from acting on a show for television to being interviewed by
Ellen, he has a very full life. There was also a murder plot, but the guys didn't stand a chance. Have you seen Justin's bodyguards? Yikes!
What are your favorite songs by Justin?
Would you like to see him with Selena or someone else?
This blog is for you, for your opinions, so weigh in and give us a review on Justin.
UPDATE: Wow, do people not like this guy anymore? Taylor Swift got a lot more hits. Come on, Bieber fans! Show your support. Do you still love his music? Do you think he's cute? Or is he over?

Taylor Swift
Taylor's dream came true when her parents agreed to move to Nashville so she could pursue a career in music. That's a big change for a girl who grew up on a Christmas Tree farm, but she's adapted just fine. When you see her in an interview or onstage performing, you still catch glimpses of the wide-eyed little girl who loves surprises and believes love is the most important thing in the world. Her favorite number is 13, an unlucky number to most other people. That should tell you something about this amazing girl who writes her own music and loves her fans.
